AI OR DIE is an art collective producing the world’s first fully AI-generated sketch comedy series. Blending cutting-edge generative video techniques with sharp satire, the group pushes the boundaries of both technology and humor. Their collaborative project, AI OR DIE, plays with the idea of artificial intelligence as a creative partner, resulting in surreal comedy shorts that challenge viewers’ expectations of AI’s artistic capabilities.
Nathan Boey is a Canadian multimedia artist and director whose practice bridges filmmaking, animation, and cutting-edge AI art. Originally trained in film at Concordia University, Boey spent two decades honing his craft in visual storytelling – from directing stop-motion shorts to editing films – and earned accolades such as a regional Emmy Award along the way. Boey brings a strong narrative vision to AI OR DIE.
Bengt Tibert is based in Warsaw with a background as a creative director. He brings to the collective a flair for the visually absurd, leveraging his technical expertise and design savvy to craft the collective’s vividly bizarre scenarios. Tibert’s individual projects have been shown from Paris to New York.
Mind Wank, under a deliberately provocative alias, uses AI to generate eerie, absurd and emotionally raw visuals a style that infuses AI OR DIE’s skits with an offbeat, edgy tone. With a practice centered on “the broken poetry of modern life”, he ensures the collective’s comedy transcends gimmickry to probe deeper human truths (albeit often in twisted, darkly comic form). His experimental approach rounds out the trio’s dynamic, pushing the AI OR DIE project into authentically uncharted artistic territory.
