Uncrowded Fields
Jul 12 - 19, 2022

Overview
“I want my images to capture some of the texture of everyday life, the stuff you’d ignore or not notice. I also want to capture a sense of chaos that I think is maybe the essence of the world, a place where everything and anything is happening at any given moment somewhere.“
- Pelle Cass
Details
The images in Uncrowded Fields (and its parent series of sports images Crowded Fields) compress a couple of hours and thousands of exposures into a single image, one that remains true to the original event: each element of the picture remains in its real, original position, and nothing has been changed, only added or omitted. Uncrowded Fields was started during the 2020 pandemic lockdown and is derived from Crowded Fields. But stillness is the keynote here.
